Hi, my name is Nicola and I live in Preston, Lancashire. I hope you enjoy browsing through my website and that you find something of interest. I run my counselling and holistic service from my home, proving a safe and relaxing space.
I aim to provide a highly professional and confidential space where you can take time to focus on your wellbeing.
I am an Accredited Counsellor and Holistic Therapist registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and with the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).
As a counsellor I am aware that we live in a fast-paced society, and our health services are often overburdened, leaving insufficient time for people to gain access to services. With this in mind, I offer an affordable service with a holistic approach.
I have experience of working with adults and children. I have worked in mental health and currently work part time with children in schools. I have a rich wealth of experience of working with various presenting issues ranging from anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, domestic violence, bereavement and much more.
I work in a client focused way which means that I listen to what you need and use my skills and experience to individually tailor your counselling experience to suit you, whilst focusing on your well-being goals.
I offer a free 30 -minute consultation which can be in person or by telephone. This gives us both the opportunity to discuss the type of therapy that best suits you, and to discuss days and times.
Many of us are looking for ways to be more mindful, to help calm anxiety and stress, so alternative therapies such as meditation, Reiki healing, Chakra balancing and Crystal healing have becoming a popular personal choice. COUNSELLING
As your counsellor I will offer you an accepting and non-judgemental relationship whatever you bring to your counselling sessions. I will be open and honest so that together we can find meaning for your emotions, thoughts and feelings. I recognise that there are times in our lives when we need someone to talk to and to support us to make positive changes.
My theoretical approach to counselling is primarily person-centred, however my training enables me to utilise an integrative approach incorporating Creative Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I believe that we all need a holistic approach, we are individuals and we respond to different models.
During my career I have worked with many clients, (adolescents & adults) all of whom have had their own unique story, covering a variety of different client issues. These include:
Depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, relationship issues, self-esteem and confidence issues, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, phobias, family and work- related issues, bereavement and pre-bereavement, meaning and fulfilment, loneliness and isolation, guilt, shame, work and career issues and personal development.
I offer sessions in person, via telephone/online and also walk and talk

In person counselling:
I work from home in Preston, Lancashire. I offer a safe, calming and non-judgemental space.
Telephone/Online counselling:
Telephone/online counselling is providing to become a popular form of counselling. It’s a great choice for those who find that they are too busy to attend in person.
Walk and Talk counselling:
This is taking the counselling session outside. For some clients it can feel a little intense sitting opposite the counsellor. There are endless benefits to being outdoors in nature. Walking next to each other, side by side can for some feel more relaxing, plus being outdoors increases wellbeing, lowers anxiety and stress levels.
Taking the session outside is a great way to connect with nature. As a Holistic Practitioner I know that being present in the moment can help to reduce those barriers to exploring difficult and traumatic events in your life
Counselling adults: £35 – 1 hour per session

REIKI HEALING TREATMENT
Mikao Usui is the Japanese founder of a form of spiritual practice known as Usui Reiki, and is traditionally passed on from master to student.
Reiki is a healing practice that works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, therefore the therapeutic benefits are endless.
Many now have chosen to use Reiki healing along with other holistic therapies as alternatives to traditional methods, that’s why I think it truly compliments talking therapy, healing the whole inner being. Please note that as a holistic practitioner I do not diagnose any health conditions and the use of Reiki healing is not a substitute for conventional medicine.
I provide a quiet and tranquil space in which you can shut out the world and relax completely. I begin my session with a consultation so that I can explore the reasons for your session. The client stays fully clothed with their shoes removed and will lie on a therapy bed covered with a blanket. Please don’t be worried if you are unable to lie down, Reiki can also be conducted with a client seated in a chair, as Reiki has an infinite wisdom and knows where in your body it needs to flow.
Reiki healing crystals are used during the treatment and help to achieve an unblocking and rejuvenating our chakras, by allowing us to channel a deeper healing process. There are seven main chakras, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. When these are balanced and aligned they promote positive mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. There are many reasons why our chakras can become blocked and out of balance, these range from exposure to stress, trauma, grief, lack of rest and neglecting our own need for self-care. Hormonal changes such as perimenopause and the menopause can also have a huge impact on our wellbeing.
Symptoms from blocked chakras vary from physical pain and discomfort, fatigue, interrupted sleep to emotional symptoms of anxiety, stress, anger, loss of self-worth and confidence.
Clients may or may not feel any sensations during their reiki healing treatment. However, most clients have reported a deep sense of relaxation, experience warmth, tingling sensations, or experience seeing colours. For some clients it has been known for them to feel overwhelming emotions or a sense of weight where the body is beginning to heal. Apart from feeling truly relaxed you may experience your mind beginning to clear and tension floating away from stressed muscles
Reiki adults: £25 - 50 minutes treatment time
Under 16s – £15 - 30 minutes treatment time with a free healing crystal
(A parent will remain in the room for under 16s)
CRYSTAL HEALING TREATMENT
Crystals, gems and minerals have been used on Earth for a very long time to achieve physical, emotional and spiritual balance. Almost every ancient civilisation used healing crystals and then in the 1980’s crystal healing became more recognised within the western culture.
Each Crystal has different properties and energies. As channels of energy they allow healing energy to flow into the human body and help to realign the energy channels that are interrupting the natural flow that the body needs to heal. The crystals will work on your chakra system which starts from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. The healing vibrations from the crystals will also work to heal your aura which is an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds the body in seven layers. It has been referred to as “an extension of our personalities” and when our aura is disrupted (torn), it can have an effect on our emotions, thought process and overall health.
There are many reasons why our chakras and our aura can become blocked and out of balance and these range from exposure to stress, trauma, grief, lack of rest and not meeting our self-care needs. Using a pendulum, I will comb your aura to check for blockages and to determine where the healing crystals are needed. These are placed on or around a client to balance and align the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.
Clients may experience a sense of deep relaxation, warmth, tingling sensations, or it has been known for a client to either feel overwhelming emotions or a sense of weight where the body is healing.
Not only is crystal therapy a wonderful choice for healing, it is also becoming a more recognised treatment for those who want to improve their wellbeing
When your session is over, I will remove the crystals and allow you time to ground yourself in your surroundings.
At the end of your session we will spend time together so that I can discuss your treatment session. I understand that when we feel truly relaxed, it can be difficult to retain all the details, therefore a detailed analysis of your treatment is emailed to you

I consider crystal therapy to be a deeper healing process and I would highly recommend this treatment for those who are experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety and fatigue.

Indian Head Massage
The Indian head massage is an ancient therapeutic practice used in India for over 2,000 years. The process of this holistic treatment is based on the principle of Champissage and it aim is to perform the flow of energy or chakras in the body. This tradition has been passed on in Indian families from one generation to the next and in the 1970s it was introduced in the west by Nerendra Mehta.
I begin my session with a consultation (completion of a health questionnaire) so that I can explore the reasons for your session. I start the Indian head massage treatment with the shoulders, and follow this flowing motion up to the neck as working into this area is where we often hold a lot of tension. To fully experience this healing process, clients are required to remove the top part of their clothing and will be covered with a blanket whilst lying on a therapy bed. However, for those who do not wish to do this, an Indian head massage can be conducted in a chair whilst the client remains clothed. For this option, I can still massage the neck area to relieve any stress and tension. Following this flowing motion, I will move up to the scalp which is massaged along the acupuncture points on the head, followed by the forehead and face. This treatment is with the use of oil combined with aromatherapy oils which condition the hair and promotes growth and healthy skin. This truly relaxing treatment ends with time to re-balance the top three chakras. Your throat chakra, third eye and crown. I will spend some time placing my hands on these chakras and use reiki healing.
An Indian Head Massage treatment helps with various physical, emotional and spiritual ailments such as promote hair growth by increasing oxygen in the hair follicles, reduces headaches, muscle stiffness, enables better sleep, relives symptoms of depression and anxiety through relaxation and renews and balances energy levels by working with the three higher chakras
